Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Durability Loads Analysis Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • Will be required to drive a company car. Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides all durability load data to perform Finite Element Durability Analysis (chassis, body, powertrain), design components and develop durability bench test parameters
  • Performs the calculation of vehicle suspension component loads, frame/body attachment loads and engine mounts loads using ADAMS, along with using Motion View and nCode tools
  • Performing Loads Analysis (which is the calculation of vehicle suspension component loads, frame/body attachment loads and engine mounts loads) using ADAMS
  • Use MotionView and nCode tools
  • Building/modifying ADAMS (multi-body dynamics) models, which include full vehicle and suspension
  • Review engineering data (geometry, bushing rates, etc.)
  • Review road load data (time history data)
  • Run durability models, which include full vehicle, 1/2 suspension and powertrain
  • Output component loads, attachment loads, powertrain mount loads, etc. Post-processing data (statistics-max/min values, equivalent damage, loads comparisons, histograms)
  • Technical report writing. Upload load data into project database

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited University or equivalent
  • Master of Science in Engineering preferred
  • Prefer candidates with at least 3 years of experience. Candidates with less experience may be considered
  • Must have experience with ADAMS
  • Must have experience with Analytical Dynamics (which includes Rigid Body Dynamics and Vibration)
  • Strongly prefer candidates with a background in the auto industry or those who possess a good knowledge of the automotive industry
  • Experience in reviewing Road Load Data to ensure data fidelity
  • Ability to review and interpret data to address durability concerns
  • Experience with Motion-View, UNIX/Linux workstations, chassis/suspension design and functionality
  • Experience using nCode/GlyphWorks/Ice-flow data analysis software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Involvement in formula SAE challenge
  • Good understanding of vehicle architecture, suspension types and powertrain subsystems
  • Demonstrated ability to review and interpret real world and simulation data to ensure model fidelity
  • Ability to communicate the results and understanding to an engineering audience
  • Must have a VALID clear driver's license
  • Must have the ability to travel to the US for meetings and training without restrictions
  • Hybrid position- a min of 3 days on site.
