We are currently recruiting for an experienced Battery Electric Vehicle Calibration Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the Automotive Industry.
NOTE:
Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leading calibration development of assigned function items in the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) from first dyno, into early mule vehicle to production on the next generation of BEV Propulsion Systems
Scope of responsibility spans the application and optimization of control systems into production for BEV Propulsion Systems
Calibrator will document and justify all HCP calibration changes through rigorous development and test plans
Calibrator will present and justify changes to lead calibrator and Sr. management as appropriate
Calibrator will participate or lead the Center of Excellence team for their functional areas
Review any new calibrations in their area, work with other calibrators and controls engineers to ensure initial values for new calibrations are correct by reviewing software change requests in the new release (performed at each new SW release
Coordinate calibration merges with other functional leads
Production release responsibility for the HCP SW and Calibrations
Support dyno commissioning and first-run activities
Work closely with HCP controls team to ensure features are working sufficiently and efficiently
Provide training to all new calibration engineers and/or anyone else needing training on the operation of ePT vehicles and controls
Support trips and report activities for Sr. Management
Work with the CoE teams to ensure best practices are followed
Lead contact point for system issues in their functional area
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university
0-3 years of experience in Automotive or similar
Prior collegiate project work/intern experience in the area of powertrain development, Propulsion system controls and/or calibration
Basic understanding of Power Electronics, Hybrid Vehicle Architecture and Power flow
Matlab/Simulink application and development experience
English: Advanced
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
Demonstrated the ability to work well with others
Must be a team player, supporting and promoting team accomplishments versus personal achievement
PREFERED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods
Knowledge of software and equipment for engine calibration, MATLAB, measurement and analysis (Inca-Etas / Horiba)
Knowledge of the dyno environment and tools related to it, such as:
Puma, Cameo, Indicom, Concerto
Experience with Matlab scripting and other useful data processing languages/tool sets ex: Python, JavaScriptiNlodeJS, etc...
Experience with Formula SAE
