We are recruiting an entry-level Pension Administrator (Finance Analyst) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- 100% Onsite in Oakville, ON
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support new system launch to Telus Health pension administration solution for managing and paying members and pensioners
- Participate in processing of pension benefit calculations in accordance with the pension plan text and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and reconcile system data for annuitants, withdrawals and valuation reports
- Prepare, verify and file tax and other legislative and regulatory requirements (AIRs,T4As, PAs, PSPAs, PARs)
- Participate in Processing of monthly pension payroll
- Prepare and issue annual member pension statements
- Completion and testing of internal controls to ensure compliance with annual Sarbanes-Oxley certificates, including updating, testing and validation of departmental processes and procedures
- Liaise with external auditors for financial statement preparation and verification
- Communicate with members, employers, union representatives, plan actuaries and custodians regarding benefit entitlements; administration procedures and interpretations of plan provisions
- Efficiently and accurately complete a large volume of quality work
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of experience with administering pension plans, payrolls, and statements
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Time Management
- Strong mathematical and analytical abilities
- Self-starter with a willingness to help others outside the scope of main responsibilities
- Process improvement mindset
- Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-secondary education, preferably in finance related area
- Experience with defined benefit and defined contributions pension plans
- Experience with Telus Health pension administration solutions
- Working knowledge of applicable pension and income tax legislation and regulations
