An industry-leading automotive supplier seeks a strong Production Supervisor to join their growing team. The position is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Production department to consistently meet safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Measuring, reporting and meeting availability, efficiency/quality requirements, ensuring preventive maintenance activities are conducted, optimizing equipment, floor layout & 5S activities
- Lead the creation of action plans and manage efforts to achieve manufacturing and plant goals
- Coaches / teaches, and facilitates problem solving, project management, and application of the clients’ production system, verifies processes and standards are being followed and improved
- Creating a positive work environment with established roles, responsibilities and expectations for production members
- Improves capability of production members by ensuring that employees are adequately trained, that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner and that safety incidents are thoroughly investigated with effective corrective actions
- Maintains human resource related activities, including employee/union relations, annual performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree preferred. Will consider candidates with relevant work experience and a college diploma
- 2- 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
- Proven experience working in a Continuous Improvement environment
- Ability to lead a team to meet production and company targets
- Demonstrated problem solving, analytical and communication skills are required
