We are currently recruiting an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry
NOTE:
- Remote
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analysis to support advanced vehicle programs with component and sub system specifications to meet full vehicle performance targets for Ride, Handling and Steering
- Integral with the team and work with test engineers, program team and the component release teams
- Offline Validation, preparing Driver In the Loop models and HIL/SIL integration as necessary for supporting the recommendations
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 3 years of engineering experience
- Solid understanding of system/component design/development processes
- Familiarity with Vehicle Ride, Handling, and Steering, and associated simulation techniques
- Understanding of the subsystems and components - (e.g. Suspension Kinematics/Compliance, tires, springs, shocks and steering/Braking systems
- Experience with Simulation tools (e.g. ADAMS Car, CARSIM, MATLAB, EXCEL)
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to coordinate activities
- Self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and work planning ability
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to develop custom routines – e.g. Visual Basic, Python, MATLAB
- Experience with Hardware In the Loop, Software in the Loop & Driver in the Loop
- Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
- Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis(DFMEA)
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) method
- Ability to extract component detail from NX, Teamcenter
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to management and cross-functional teams
