Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry

NOTE:

  • Remote
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
  • Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analysis to support advanced vehicle programs with component and sub system specifications to meet full vehicle performance targets for Ride, Handling and Steering
  • Integral with the team and work with test engineers, program team and the component release teams
  • Offline Validation, preparing Driver In the Loop models and HIL/SIL integration as necessary for supporting the recommendations

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years of engineering experience
  • Solid understanding of system/component design/development processes
  • Familiarity with Vehicle Ride, Handling, and Steering, and associated simulation techniques
  • Understanding of the subsystems and components - (e.g. Suspension Kinematics/Compliance, tires, springs, shocks and steering/Braking systems
  • Experience with Simulation tools (e.g. ADAMS Car, CARSIM, MATLAB, EXCEL)
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to coordinate activities
  • Self-starter with demonstrated problem solving and work planning ability

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to develop custom routines – e.g. Visual Basic, Python, MATLAB
  • Experience with Hardware In the Loop, Software in the Loop & Driver in the Loop
  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis(DFMEA)
  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) method
  • Ability to extract component detail from NX, Teamcenter
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to management and cross-functional teams
