Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Development and Benchmarking Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • 100% remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Point of contact for technical benchmarking requests received from a stakeholder related to PFDI and EE systems of competitive vehicles
  • Participation in the global benchmarking Technical Unit: attend virtual meetings with the responsibility to propose new activities, provide status of ongoing projects, and to collect new requests
  • Virtual data collection: gathers, compiles, and analyzes technical data of competitive vehicle systems and components from multiple data sources while ensuring data robustness and accuracy
  • Technical target studies: completion of studies including, but not limited to, competitor system/component archetypes, value optimization opportunities, standardization analysis, electrification strategy, new technologies, and feature analysis. Assessments between corporate and competitive vehicles to drive new design solutions in support of future product development plans.
  • Communication: manage the ongoing communication of study results with the requestor, other organizations that could take advantage of the study, and benchmarking colleagues in the other regions
  • Process development and maintenance: development and maintenance of processes for full vehicle teardowns, data analysis, idea generation and implementation tracking, and business intelligence development

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university
  • 3-5 years of experience in the automotive industry
  • Good technical knowledge of automotive Body, chassis and E/E systems/components, as well as an understanding and curiosity of the technologies and features offered in the ever-evolving vehicle
  • Basic knowledge of automotive materials, component manufacturing processes, and manufacturing assembly
  • Basic knowledge of Benchmarking Databases (e.g. A2mac1 database)
  • Proficient in both Google G Suite and Microsoft Office packages
  • Good organizational skills, self-motivated & self-directed approach, ability to manage multiple activities/projects, maintaining alignment of projects with deliverables
