Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Project Delegate Support to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • Hybrid
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting the lead design/engineering system integration activities (packaging) tied to establishing new D, E, F sized vehicles and pick-ups to ensure technical feasibility for all related projects through Intention Milestone and up to Pre-contract Approval
  • Leverage Brand, Design, Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering and other inputs to establish vehicle and occupant package (VOP) - the framework for further packaging activities
  • Ensure strategic technical requirements can be achieved with support of PFDI (Vehicle Integration team)
  • Capture part/system sharing opportunities (VisBom) and complexity reduction opportunities
  • Leverage internal and external resources (BCI, propulsion, EE, Mfg. & PFDI) to ensure feasibility and that the technology road map is accounted for and opportunities are understood/dimensioned
  • Identify critical engineering constraints and develop/define alternatives which will meet objectives
  • Develop inputs and coordinate early buck/property builds for leadership evaluation
  • Define and coordinate early simulation activities for directional guidance
  • Support (self-contained within small, quick loop team) ‘what if’ study requests from the Sr. Leadership
  • Lead development of presentation for communication of work output and guidance to the leadership team

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive development experience
  • Ability to use CAD software for quick studies (preferably Teamcenter/NX)
  • Excellent communication and program management skills
  • Ability to simplify complex engineering topics, develop and deliver a presentation in a clear and concise way
  • Ability to make quick decisions using sound engineering logic
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to define the engineering logic behind system packaging layout solutions in the context of the vehicle/platform
  • Work effectively across multiple unique disciplines

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science in Engineering
  • Science/physics background with fundamental knowledge of vehicle system interaction / integration (redundant to some of the Basic Qualifications)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of chassis/suspension, propulsion/engine systems, body structure, etc.
  • Understanding for propulsion systems requirements with regard to emissions, electrification, the balance of power/torque needs on vehicle performance & efficiency, etc.
  • Working knowledge of DFSS
