Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Program Manager (Powertrain) to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry. This is a 2 - 4 year contract term position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Early Phase - Program Tasks

  • Program Start thru OEM Equipment Delivery / Retool
  • Program Timing – MS Excel project timing summary for key milestones with monthly, weekly, and daily templates depending on scope of work
  • Program Timing – Work independently / with program timing resource to create MS Project timing database & inputs into master schedule, report outputs
  • Program Timing – Lead OEM (Equipment Supplier) timing oversight & timing meeting coordination – inputs to master schedule & project timing summaries
  • Program Financials – Update indicated Cost Tracking documents & Program Check book
  • Program Reporting – Lead / Support updates / publish of various program review decks
  • Program Reviews – Lead new program review discipline
  • Product Engineering Partnership – interface with System & Component Product, Manufacturing, Support Teams (SPMT, CPMT)
  • Program Disciplines – Lead / Support Program Deliverable (Integrator) assessments, monitor & track issues to closure, engage with plant floor “whiteboard” activity from installation start through commission
  • Equipment Readiness – Lead / Support the Machine Tryout (MTO – Make Like Production (MLP) Part Ordering process & track status
  • Manpower Planning – Lead / Support Installation & Commissioning skilled trade allocation requirements
  • Program Issue Management – Lead / Support AIM issues management system tracking & closure
  • Program Change Control – Lead / Support engineering change control activity & global coordination

Late Phase - Program Launch

  • Program Launch Planning – Lead / Support coordination of pre-production build activity
  • Program Launch Reporting – Lead / Support program scorecard activity / review discipline from Launch Readiness thru Buy Off
  • Program Launch Execution – Lead / Support Production Trail Run (PTR) activity including serial number tracking, issue documentation, and engineering review follow up
  • Program Launch Data Management – Utilize Machine Monitoring Reporting Tools (FIS, IIOT) to support new program team through completion of launch (Rate of Climb – ROC)

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in relevant Business / Engineering Technology field or Engineering degree preferred
  • 10 years of Program Engineer/Management experience in a high-volume, automotive production manufacturing environment. Preference given to candidates with previous equipment installation and buy-off experience from an OEM
  • Project Management / Coordination / Communication
  • MS Office Suite (MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
