We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- 6-month contract that could be extended but no guarantee
- Ability to work all three shifts is required, primarily the off shifts (midnights and afternoons)
- Ability work overtime including weekends and holidays when required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work
- Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives
- Supervise skilled trade activities and assign work as required
- Provide guidance and support on breakdown activities
- Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their
assigned responsibilities and tasks - Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team
- Perform administration of supervisory duties and documentation as it relates to supporting the maintenance activity
- Monitor and create requisitions for machine parts and related equipment
- Support the ongoing PM (preventative maintenance) process
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years’ experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA (collective bargaining agreement)
- Experience in body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly, or machining preferred.
- Safety and Quality experience preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
- Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
- Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining experience (specific to Power TakeOff)
- Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Effective organizational and administrative capabilities
- Preference given to previous experience in a trade (industrial)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $35.00 - $40.00 hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work
