Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Tooling Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • 6-month contract that could be extended but no guarantee
  • Ability to work all three shifts is required, primarily the off shifts (midnights and afternoons)
  • Ability work overtime including weekends and holidays when required
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Emphasis on delivery and continuous improvement of safely, quality, and productivity
  • Interface with Suppliers and Product Engineering
  • Purchasing system
  • Run-off equipment per specifications, at supplier and plant to validate capability aid robustness, including safety
  • Meet all objectives through R&M, Process Design, and FMEAs
  • Develop plans for machine tryout parts (MTO) - cost, quantity, location of build, quality, etc.
  • Lead Simo Engineering with supplier and plant / staff
  • Interface with plant personnel with appropriate timing and installation documentation, to ensure efficient / timely installation and validation

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years’ experience in Tool Engineering (high speed machining)
  • Strong experience in a machining environment
  • Tooling: Speeds, Feeds, and Depth of Cut, Equipment to Facilitate Tool Management, Continuous Improvement in Cost, Productivity and Quality
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a dynamic working environment and diverse team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Individual must be a team player and willing to take a leadership role in project setting
  • Strong Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $35.00 - $40.00 / hour (depending on experience)
  • Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
