We are recruiting an experienced Systems Controls Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing strategic and technical leadership in the area of developing propulsion controls strategies
- Responsible for both individual technical project deliverables, coordinating activities and bringing projects to successful conclusions
- Developing and validating control strategies during the initial stages of propulsion system development
- Develops and evaluates automotive propulsion control systems
- Early concept development, controls design, system analysis, testing, validation, and requirements generation for downstream software implementation teams
- Contribute throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept generation and technology exploration through validation and handoff to production engineering teams
- Develop automotive control system strategies and algorithms for propulsion applications
- Analyze test data to evaluate control system performance
- Perform benchmarking studies against competitive technologies and industry solutions
- Conduct theoretical and conceptual analyses to support new feature development
- Translate data findings into actionable engineering recommendations
- Generate control requirements and system specifications based on engineering analysis and validation results
- Define functional requirements for software implementation teams
- Develop supporting technical documentation and engineering reports.
- Support multiple phases of development, with responsibilities varying based on project maturity
- Test bench development and execution
- Impact studies and system interaction analysis
- Assessment of new control features and their effects on related vehicle systems
- Generation of technical reports and recommendations
- Preparation of requirements for implementation teams
- Extensive interaction with internal stakeholders across the vehicle development organization
- Conduct root-cause analysis
- Coordinate troubleshooting efforts with other engineering teams
- Validate corrective actions through testing and analysis
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Applied Physics, or any other relevant STEM oriented degree from an accredited university
- 5 years of total experience in conventional and electrified propulsion system controls/calibration development
- Experience in both propulsion system control development and/or calibration is desired
- Experience in conventional and electrified propulsion system controls/calibration development
- Demonstrated ability in control algorithm development methods
- Experienced in control state of the art technologies, including but not limited to the areas of electrified powertrains, conventional engines, and transmissions,
- Experience in system and control design, calibration, and testing
- Effective experienced based or analytical problem-solving ability
- Demonstrated technical leadership on propulsion system control strategy development projects
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Must be a strong team player, systems focused with interdisciplinary experience & expertise, and willing to work in fast paced environment
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $32.00 - $36.00/ hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work
