Job Description

Our client, a global leader in power transmission and fluid power products, is looking for a Quality Technician (Dynamic Gauge) to join their team.

NOTE:

  • Overtime as required, including weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Program, safe operation and maintaining the dynamic damping gauge for prototype parts
  • Assure accurate and timely measurements for prototype tensioners
  • Maintain data and reports for measured parts
  • Ensures that all work performed meets established safety requirements
  • Ensures that the dynamic area is safe, clean and in proper operating condition
  • Assist or back-up for prototype building assemblies, acquiring components, labelling, packaging and shipment as required
  • Professional and productive interaction with all personnel to facilitate the smooth flow of information across all communication channels (ex. Customer, Internal, Suppliers, etc.)
  • Set up and take measurements with tools such as height gauges and micrometers and the ability to read blueprints
  • Works with and assists Prototype-Toolroom in support of customer and test projects
  • Has regular contact with and work with Product and Process Engineers and Quality personnel
  • Requires independent activity to accomplish set tasks accurately and on time
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three-year College/University degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience within an automotive prototype and quality environment
  • Minimum 0-4 years of related experience within a design for manufacture discipline
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Capable to plan and perform design work in a timely manner
  • Able to apply engineering principles, practices and procedures
  • Sound knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects for multiple customers
  • Mechanically inclined to have the ability to use hand tools for assembly and disassembly of tensioners and sub-assembly
  • Experience with CNC machines considered an asset
  • Experience in CAD/CAE (Pro-E preferred, Catia, Unigraphics, Solidworks) also a desired asset
  • Familiarity with data acquisition and data analysis would be an asset
  • Strong team player, proactively able to support other team members and share knowledge to allow cross-training of key functions
  • Builds collaborative relationships

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $27.00 -$30.00 / hour (depending on experience)
  • Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
  • Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
