Our client is recruiting for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their land development team, specializing in residential and commercial subdivision design.
NOTE:

- Must be located in Windsor, Essex or surrounding area
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the design of residential and mixed-use subdivision layouts including lot grading, road networks, and phasing plans
- Prepare and review plan and profile drawings, grading plans, and servicing drawings for municipal approval
- Coordinate with planners, landscape architects, and surveyors throughout all project stages
- Develop detailed grading and drainage designs for subdivisions, ensuring compliance with municipal standards and watershed requirements
- Perform stormwater management calculations and design SWM facilities (ponds, bioretention, infiltration)
- Prepare earthwork quantity estimates and cut/fill analyses
- Design underground municipal servicing including sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer systems
- Prepare servicing reports and support submission of development engineering approvals
- Coordinate utility conflicts and ensure constructability
- Build and manage Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, and corridors for road and subdivision design
- Create corridor models for road reconstruction, subdivision roads, and grading tie-ins
- Produce construction drawing sets directly from Civil 3D model data
- Liaise with municipalities, approval agencies, and utility companies
- Respond to agency review comments and revise drawings accordingly
- Support construction administration including site reviews and field questions
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Eng. designation (or eligible)
- 3–7 years of experience in land development / subdivision design
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (corridors, surfaces, pipe networks, grading) (or Bentley Software)
- Solid understanding of municipal servicing standards and grading principles
- Familiarity with local land development approval processes
- Detail-oriented with strong spatial reasoning
- Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Effective communicator with clients, contractors, and municipal staff
- Collaborative team player who can also work independently
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of stormwater modeling software (PCSWMM, or similar)
- Experience preparing subdivision agreement schedules and cost estimates
- Strong AutoCAD drafting background as a foundation
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $30.00 - $50.00 /hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
