We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance / Production Supervisor to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- 9-month contract
- 100% onsite
- Must be available to work OT as required including weekends
- Must be able to work all shifts
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach team members on Safety, Quality, and Productivity to ensure objectives are met by adhering to standardized work
- Optimize production throughput in alignment with budget and cost objectives
- Monitor ANDON (a system to notify production issues) occurrences and serve as
the initial responder for secondary support - Verify production line safe and smooth operation, and its output of quality
parts, through Process Confirmation - Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) initiatives and coach problem resolution at the lowest possible level
- Meet targets for First Time Through (FTT), inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expenses
- Build the capability of both Team Leaders and Team Members
- Create a conducive work environment that enables teams to complete their
assigned responsibilities and tasks - Ensure effective communication and recognition within the team
- Perform basic administration of supervisory duties and documentation
- Create process and instruction sheets supporting quality methods and processes
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years’ experience working with and supervising unionized workforce and understanding of CBA (collective bargaining agreement)
- Experience in body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly, or machining preferred.
- Safety and Quality experience preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
- Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
- Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining experience (specific to Power TakeOff)
- Helium leak stand experience (specific to Power Take-Off)
- Adept problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Effective organizational and administrative capabilities
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $35.00 - $40.00/hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
