Job Description

Our client, a designer/manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems and material handling systems, is in search of a Surface Designer to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contributing to the design of custom hemming tools and to developing smart and sustainable factories for the world’s leading companies,
  • Design projects using solid geometry and prepare layout and detail drawings with solid modeling techniques
  • Construct and modify design and surfacing mathematical surfaces
  • Input identification data, codes, and design instructions to retrieve and display necessary drawings and graphics, including grids, scales, radii, point locations, vertical and horizontal lines, drafting symbols, and textual data
  • Use commands to manipulate displayed graphics by rotating views, adjusting dimensions, and modifying data to develop designs or update drawings
  • Verify the completeness and accuracy of final drawings on screen before releasing or storing design data
  • Produce finalized hard copy drawings, including specified elevations, cross-sections, projections, or other required details

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Five (5) years of direct experience with 3D and 2D design
  • Experience with Siemens NX
  • Experience using Catia and NX Unigraphics
  • Familiarity with the stamping process
  • Experience in tool design specifically surface designing, with an emphasis on stamping would be a bonus
  • Experience with sheet metal stamping or hemming die designs
  • Strong safety focus, excellent time management and organizational skills and someone determined and committed to delivering results
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $29.00 - $34.00/hour (depending on experience)
  • Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
  • Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
