Our client, a designer/manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems and material handling systems, is in search of a Surface Designer to join their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributing to the design of custom hemming tools and to developing smart and sustainable factories for the world’s leading companies,
- Design projects using solid geometry and prepare layout and detail drawings with solid modeling techniques
- Construct and modify design and surfacing mathematical surfaces
- Input identification data, codes, and design instructions to retrieve and display necessary drawings and graphics, including grids, scales, radii, point locations, vertical and horizontal lines, drafting symbols, and textual data
- Use commands to manipulate displayed graphics by rotating views, adjusting dimensions, and modifying data to develop designs or update drawings
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of final drawings on screen before releasing or storing design data
- Produce finalized hard copy drawings, including specified elevations, cross-sections, projections, or other required details
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Five (5) years of direct experience with 3D and 2D design
- Experience with Siemens NX
- Experience using Catia and NX Unigraphics
- Familiarity with the stamping process
- Experience in tool design specifically surface designing, with an emphasis on stamping would be a bonus
- Experience with sheet metal stamping or hemming die designs
- Strong safety focus, excellent time management and organizational skills and someone determined and committed to delivering results
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $29.00 - $34.00/hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
