Our client, a leading Tier 1 manufacturing supplier is looking for an Injection Molding Processing Supervisor to join their team in Port Hope, ON. You will be leading a team of Injection Molding Technicians/Skilled Trades (7 unionized in total) - to ensure the safe, efficient, and consistent production of high-quality parts while supporting Plant SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale) objectives. NOTE:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support Injection Molding Technicians in daily manufacturing operations
- Promote a safe work environment and maintain 5S standards
- Support quality and production objectives using IATF 16949 methodologies within the authorized budget
- Troubleshoot process, tooling, and equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, quality, and efficiency
- Support process development, equipment installation, testing, and automation initiatives
- Coordinate tooling activities, sample production, and product launch requirements
- Determines root cause of failures and recommends equipment design and/or process changes as required
- Utilizes AM Methodology and 7 Steps of Die Maintenance for injection moulds, fixtures and associated equipment
- Identify training gaps for personnel and develop gap closure plans
- Obtains quotes, enters purchase requisitions for materials, equipment or services
- Maintain accurate process, tooling, and quality documentation
- Collaborate with external and internal teams to achieve operational targets
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in an Injection Molding environment, preferably automotive
- Engineering degree, Tool & Die, or Millwright certification considered an asset
- Experienced with Husky, Engel, Cincinnati and Italtech machines ranging from 850 - 3000 tonnage (11 total machines)
- Working Knowledge of Fanuc and Huskey robots. Programming would be considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of SPC, process control, and problem-solving methodologies
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, molds, tooling, robotics, and automation systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office and manufacturing systems
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $60,000 - $80,000 / year depending on experience, Overtime eligible after 40 hours / week and potential for bonus
