We are currently recruiting for Metrology Supervisor leading a team of 6 Metrology Technicians in an automotive lab environment. The supervisor(s) will be responsible for the dimensional accuracy, calibration, and inspection of casted components during manufacturing, development, or reconditioning. Additionally, they will be managing inspection equipment, developing measurement methods, and overseeing a team of inspectors across multiple shifts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Team Leadership & Scheduling: Supervise a team (typically 6+ hourly technicians) of CMM programmers/operators, NDT technicians, and dimensional inspectors to ensure 24/7 or multi-shift coverage for high-priority production workstreams
- Precision Inspection Oversight: Oversee the inspection of critical crankshaft features, including fillet radii, journal tolerances, oil hole locations, surface finish, hardness, and balancing specifications
- CMM Programming & Calibration: Develop and validate complex CMM programs and manage the calibration and repair of measurement equipment, gauges, and tooling (e.g., micrometers, Adcole systems)
- GD&T & Technical Support: Apply deep knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to interpret engineering drawings, perform layouts on new parts, and resolve dimensional issues
- Quality & Data Management: Analyze measurement data (e.g., Gage R&R, SPC), maintain data integrity in systems (like ITDM), and lead material review boards (MRB) to address non-conforming parts
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization to improve throughput and reduce costs in crankshaft production
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFCATIONS:
- Experience: 5+ years in metrology, with significant experience in CMM programming (optical/tactile) and precision machining, ideally in the automotive or engine manufacturing sector
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Skills: Proficiency with metrology software and statistical tools; expertise in GD&T and ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Leadership: Strong interpersonal skills to mentor staff, manage workload, and communicate across functional teams (Production, Quality, Engineering)

- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): MPI/FPI for crack detection on crankshafts
- Gauge Calibration: Ensuring precision instrument reliability
- Surface Finish & Hardness Analysis: Ensuring conformance to material heat treatment specs
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $35.00 - $40.00 / hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
