We are recruiting an experienced Validation Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- Onsite
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performing verification and validation of automotive systems to meet federally regulated guidelines for software performance (OBD), safety requirements, manufacturability, and vehicle functionality
- Validation of hardware, software, and vehicle functionality
- Developing master DVP's for Vehicle Validation, creating and managing DVP&R's, the test procedures (including maintaining traceability of test artifacts to requirements)
- Initial root cause analysis activities
- Properly documenting test procedures and developing new tests as appropriate to enhance coverage
- Ensure test properties functionality for validating the appropriate functions, performing the tests and entering test results at all I-Points for all programs
- Clearly document issues in the Portal and GIMs system, and provide Validation Project Chief all DVP&R results and open issues found
- Provides leadership in the areas of formulation and implementation of testing strategies including traceability from requirements to results to achieve broader testing capabilities across multiple vehicle platforms.
- System validation (electrical) focused on both vehicle and HIL testing reviewing DVPNR/test plans, executing tests, collecting and reviewing data, and writing up issues
- Outputs include CAN logs, issue write-ups, and data to support updates to cars or test properties
- Test execution is driven by test plans; engineers collect data, document issues, and provide data that informs car/property updates
- Setup including the System Under Test (SUT) (e.g., an ECU), a Real-Time Simulator running vehicle dynamics models (e.g., dSPACE SCALEXIO, NI PXI), and I/O interfaces that mimic sensor signals
- Ensures safety-critical software, such as ADAS, battery management (BMS), or powertrains, functions correctly by testing edge cases and faults that are dangerous or difficult to replicate in real life
- Use CANalyzer/CANoe for CAN logging to review logs and issues based on test data
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering
- 1-3 years of automotive test/validation work experience
- Experience with CANalyzer/CANoe for CAN logging/review and Control Desk/DSpace for a HIL environment
- Strong technical depth and communication skills
- Experience with vehicle/component/system validation/testing
- Familiarity with CANalyzer/CANoe and Control Desk/DSpace Control Desk/DSpace
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- $32.00 - $36.00/hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
