Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Software Engineer to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE:

  • Hybrid

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Involved in the full lifecycle of Embedded Software Development for in-vehicle Infotainment system
  • Developers will be responsible for developing software for a variety of driver information and infotainment related features, as well as for supporting software integration efforts
  • Software development will primarily be done using C++ in a QNX operating system environment
  • Building scalable, reusable middleware platforms and leveraging modern development workflows to improve software quality and developer productivity
  • Design, develop and maintain middleware services, feature APIs, HMI data bindings and platform abstractions for digital cockpit systems
  • Participate in software integration efforts including 3rd party software component integration
  • Contribute to system design, documentation, testing and continuous improvement of software quality to deliver best-in-class in-vehicle infotainment experiences
  • Work in an agile team of software developers, test engineers, technical product managers and leads
  • Address issues, write unit tests and contribute to design and code reviews
  • Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve development velocity, code quality, and debugging effectiveness

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or a WES-evaluated equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional experience in modern C++ development for embedded or systems software
  • Must have 4+ years of modern C++ experience
  • 2+ years of experience & able to speak to python usage in any tools, test harness, infrastructure development etc.
  • Must be experienced with product delivery
  • Experience with HLOS/RTOS on embedded systems is a must
  • Linux development experience is OK, QNX is a nice to have
  • Multithreaded and concurrent systems
  • Inter-process communication (IPC)
  • Debugging with GNU toolchain
  • Embedded Linux, QNX or POSIX-compliant operating systems
  • Build systems (GNU make, CMake, Soong or other)
  • Proven use of unit testing, static/dynamic analysis and performance tooling
  • Proficiency in Python for tooling, automation or infrastructure
  • C++, Python, Software Development Lifecycle, Agile Software Development, Embedded Systems, Operating Systems Software Development Lifecycle

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $59.00 / hour - $63.00 / hour (depending on experience)
  • Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
  • Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
