We are currently recruiting an experienced Durability Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.
NOTE:
- Onsite
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Setting up and conducting durability tests using MTS real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and conducting data acquisition using various data acquisition systems
- Coordinating test specimen build, setting up data acquisition systems, simulator performance tuning and operation, data processing, daily durability test inspections/reporting, communicating test results to Product Engineering, attending test issue reporting meetings, and assisting in conducting durability issue investigations
- Operate the simulators and possess a good ability to operate and conduct data acquisition at proving grounds
- Coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing specimen builds, installations, repairs and teardowns
- Work collaboratively with the RTS mechanic supervisor, union, management, maintenance and facilities teams
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical Engineering required from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2-5 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry
- Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers including accelerometers, load cells and strain gages
- Experience working with servo-hydraulic systems including troubleshooting and a detailed understanding of RPC Pro and FlexTest software
- Understanding of damage severity concepts
- Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA.
- Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow up skills
- Process and detail-oriented individual with a proven ability to lead projects from start to finish with minimal guidance
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Ability to support working days, afternoons, midnight shifts and weekends on occasion
- Experience working in a unionized environment
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical Engineering
- Experience Minimum of 2-5 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry
- Hydraulically actuated testing experience using MTS RPC Pro/FlexTest software
- Experience with nCode and Somat eDAQ equipment.
- Previous CANBUS experience, (CANanlyzer, etc)
- Strain gauge theory and application
