Job Description

On behalf of our civil infrastructure and operation client, we are currently recruiting for a Civil Coordinator to join their team. This position will be responsible for working with the Project Manager on the civil work associated with the Early Works & Utility Relocation activities. The Civil Coordinator will be monitoring the progress and quality, as well as scheduling, for the construction on the civil work such as pavement, concrete and earthworks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resolves all queries for construction progress reporting back to the Project Manager
  • Assists with contract administration verification in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Provides input to the scheduling team in respect to regular project schedule update and reporting
  • In collaboration with the Project Manager, reviews contract, as required and ensures that Contractor(s) and Consultant(s) provide services as per their respective contracts terms and specifications
  • Ensures that the quality of work meets specifications and complies with the contract including safety regulations
  • Prepares written reports to document observations, findings, work details and completion dates
  • Monitor cost and progress of assigned projects
  • Determine priorities/ daily work schedule
  • Proactively foresee issues and recommends solutions to the Project Manager before issues grow out of proportion
  • Decides, with Project Manager, method to provide reports/ status updates and recommendations
  • Provide recommendations related to civil change order and cost
  • Provide recommendations related to construction inspection and field testing works
  • Make recommendations to Project Manager to address non-conformance
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is an asset
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with concrete and roadway construction
  • Ability to manage multiple issues concurrently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Possesses problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing
  • Well-rounded knowledge of relationship management
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D, Revit and structural software an asset
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety (OHSA) and safe systems of work
