Job Description

On behalf of our client, with a rich history as the world leading producer of coated fabrics and films for automotive and industrial applications we are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager to join their team. As a member of the clients' Management team, the Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production in order to meet operational targets within the organization while maintaining high safety, environmental and quality standards.

  • Plans and allocates resources to ensure the company achieves production targets for a two shift operational facility
  • Plans, evaluates and improves the efficiency of processes and procedures to enhance KPI's (speed, quality, efficiency and output)
  • Establish and maintain controls
  • Reviews performance data that includes various reports and spreadsheets to monitor productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness
  • Prepares periodic reports for management as necessary and as requested to track and monitor progress toward goals
  • Working closely with the Director of Operations to increase productivity and profitability through continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establishes and reviews output according to production schedules to ensure inventory levels are met while operating at highest efficiency rates
  • Working closely with the Quality department to review product consistency (ISO 14001) while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and area's of improvement
  • Leading and motivating a diverse Production team to meet production goals while upholding a safe work environment (ISO 45001)
  • Maintaining policies and procedures


  • Bachelors in Engineering/Operations or other related field
  • 5 - 10 years of progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a medium to large manufacturing facility, preferably in the automotive, rubber or textile industry
  • Proficient with implementing best practices using continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma, G5-S, Lean, Visual Factory)
  • Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills
  • Solid background in cultural, physical and procedural elements of TPS (Toyota Production Systems)
  • Proven experience with cross - divisional operations and Value Stream mapping
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS office Suite)
  • Highly motivated, results orientated and driven
  • Experience with safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies
  • Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
