Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are recruiting for a Durability Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Setting up and conducting durability tests real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and conducting data acquisition using various data acquisition systems
  • Coordinating test specimen build, setting up data acquisition equipment, simulator performance tuning, iterations and data processing, daily durability test inspections/reporting, communicating test results to Product Engineering, attending test issue reporting meetings, and assisting in conducting durability issue investigations
  • Must be a process and detail oriented individual with a proven ability to lead projects from start to finish with minimal guidance
  • Good communication and leadership skills are required to coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing specimen builds, installations, repairs and tear-downs
  • Work collaboratively with the mechanic supervisor, union, management, maintenance and facilities teams

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical Engineering required from an accredited university
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Aeronautical Engineering
  • Preferred: Project Management Professional Certification
  • Will consider new graduates with related co-op experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Experience working with servo-hydraulic systems including troubleshooting and tuning
  • Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers including accelerometers, load cells and strain gages
  • Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life/load-life calculations
  • Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow up skills
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • It will be a permanent afternoon shift
