Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are recruiting for a Quality Engineer.

  • Audit plant manufacturing and quality processes to measure the conformity to quality and process standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive issue resolution
  • Follow up with audit findings to ensure closure of identified gaps
  • Provide clear direction to product staff, skilled and non-skilled trades related to the quality and process standards and evaluation to generate necessary quality test data
  • Drive improvements in quality processes by improving the production methods affecting vehicle quality
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure calibration
  • Monitor process compliance to drive improvement to key performance indicators (KPI’s) and generate trend analysis reports
  • Interpret released engineering designs, specifications, materials and standards for hourly and salary personnel
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify risks/hazards associated with product designs, processes, applications, applying lessons learned, and assist in the generation of Quality Assurance Network and associated Control Plans
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or applicable Engineering degree from an accredited university (other engineering degrees, in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
  • Well-versed in Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access
  • Effective presentation/public speaking skills Experienced with problem solving tools Demonstrated ability to coach and teach others
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate details from Executive level to plant staff level
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work off shift hours as necessary
  • Self-motivated and directed
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle – valid drivers license & clean driving record
  • May be required to travel – domestic & international (less than 20%)
  • Advanced Degree
  • Previous related experience
  • Previous experience working in a union environment
  • Background in LEAN Manufacturing principles or World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
  • Problem solving techniques/Formal reactive problem solving training (i.e. green belt/black belt/master black belt/ Six Sigma / Shainin/ Kepner Trego, etc.)
