Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are recruiting for a Quality Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cross functional support to ensure correct application of process methods and specifications in various manufacturing plants for new vehicle launches
  • Plans, audits, and verifies corrective actions to ensure compliance with technical requirements of the product and process according to a standard
  • Collect and interpret data from product/process documentation
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation
  • Document and manage data for reporting findings
  • Communicate progress results and findings by preparing reports; as well as providing information in meetings
  • Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation
  • Work with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable
  • Recommend and validate rework procedures
  • Develop inspection procedures and best methods for performing inspection
  • Develop projects to support World Class Manufacturing
  • Performs follow-up evaluations to determine successful implementation of corrective actions and countermeasures
  • Utilize problem solving tools in determining root cause
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or higher
  • 2-5 years practical experience in Engineering Quality or Manufacturing Quality within an automotive organization.
  • Prior application and use of problem solving tools and statistics
  • Knowledgeable in Body Shop and/or Assembly operations
  • Basic knowledge in Process Capability measurement systems, basic statistics and data analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; including presentation skills
  • Must be self-motivated, results driven, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills
  • Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle -- valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Will be required to travel domestic and internationally -- including Canada, Mexico & possibly Italy (40-60%).
