Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are recruiting for a Quality Engineer.


  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem-solving tools (like Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments)
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation
  • Manage engineering changes, working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution
  • Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation
  • Work with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable Recommend and validate rework procedures
  • Develop inspection procedures and best methods for performing inspection
  • Develop projects to support World Class Manufacturing
  • Create & implement Quality Vehicle Control Plan (VCP) at assembly plants, including interface with engineering teams at early product development cycle to make design improvement for quality
  • Create & implement cost effective - Error / Mistake proofing solutions to improve manufacturing quality of vehicles
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as manufacturing, suppliers, manufacturing engineering across all NAFTA Assembly plants
  • Provide progress reports for the Advanced & Current Launch Quality
  • VBA programming skills to create and manage VCP Database, along with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access for reporting / presentations
  • This position will be centrally located in Auburn Hills and will work with all Assembly plants in US, Canada and Mexico - required to travel up to 40% with no restrictions


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in Automotive Product Development and/or Quality/Manufacturing with understanding of DFMEA, DVP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PSO and PPAP processes
  • Must have understanding of automotive specifications and standards, including Regulatory and Safety requirements
  • Proactive Reliability Engineering highly preferred
  • Warranty data analysis (WDSS, WIS, QNA, CLIMS, PRAS systems)
  • MS Office proficiency, including presentation skills, Cross function role requires outstanding leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent critical thinking and good communication
  • Self-motivated, results driven, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Will be required to drive company vehicles - valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Will be required to travel 20-40% - domestic & international
