Job Description

Our behalf of our tier 1 injection molding client, ranked among the top three suppliers worldwide in the respective fields of Specialty Gaskets, Shielding Technology and Plastic Housing Modules/Elastomer Technology, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join their team.

  • Develop product/system designs, develop concept design and Bill of Materials
  • Have input into tool design, production equipment and will participate in product validation test design, prototype design and builds, customer interaction and APQP teams
  • Work with Production, Maintenance and Manufacturing/Process Engineers to optimize existing processes and to develop processes for new programs
  • Interface with Account Manager and Program Manager
  • Develop Customer documentation - as required
  • Monitor and adhere to CAD/PRINT Data Control Procedure
  • Prepare/review/update BOM, DFMEA
  • Capital and labour costing on improvements and new projects
  • Preparations of functional specifications, solicitation of quotations, and selection of equipment suppliers
  • Ensure documentation is complete including operating, process, maintenance and supporting quotes as required
  • Train Maintenance and Production personnel on new and existing equipment
  • Responsible for Process FMEA’s on new and existing products
  • Coordinate initial production runs and prototype builds
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering / Applied Science with 2 years experience or Technical Diploma with 3-4 years experience in product design
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Automotive parts experience in plastic or rubber
  • Computer skills - proficient in PC software (MS Office, MS project, CADKEY) and CATIA
  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent interpersonal team player skills
  • Unix/workstation/FEA - familiarity is an asset
  • AIAG/APQP procedures - proficient
