Are you an accomplished Financial Accountant looking to use your in-depth knowledge and leadership skills to partner with other business partners?
Our client is an industry leader of international spirits and wines and is seeking a financial accountant for their Business Unit finance group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates and performs the month-end close of statutory and management ledgers
• Provides monthly reporting packages to management team
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains compliance with internal control policies and procedures as they relate to financial information, account reconciliations, journal entries and records
• Ability to work with Excel to analyze and interpret data and deliver complex reports on request from the business partner.
• OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act (section 25, 26, 27, and 28) per Corporate Policy- Management-Supervision-Worker Safety Responsibilities.
• Additional responsibilities include:
o The preparation of the annual tax package
o Analytical review of JD Edwards E1 system generated journals
o Assists the manager of US Accounting with review and analysis of half year and year-end consolidated reporting packages
o Assists with accounting issue research – related to changes in business operations, accounting standard changes (IFRS) and other ad hoc request as they arise
o Responding to Ad-Hoc requests as required



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• University Degree in Accounting/Finance with CPA designation required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, JD Edwards E1, Really Real Time (Insight software)
• Working knowledge of processes, Group Accounting Manual, IFRS and internal control compliance
• Knowledge of workings of integrated accounting systems (purchase orders, receipts, shipments and reconciliations)
• 5-10 years accounting experience in a similar environment
• Clear communication skills both written and oral
• Must demonstrate customer focus, step change innovation, the ability to make things happen, teambuilding and influencing and partnering
