Job Description

On behalf of our Tier 1 automotive client in Windsor, ON we are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Administrator to join their team. The primary focus of this position is to execute, maintain, and coordinate effective installation and performance of advanced operating systems, hardware and software on servers.

  • Support day to day manufacturing system requirements aligned to customer demands and to Customer system applications
  • Ability to interface with Manufacturing IT systems
  • To install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems
  • To monitor, analyze system components and make recommendations regarding computer system to senior management
  • To ensure company policies, instructions and guidelines are applied consistently and periodically (minimum once per year) reviewed
  • To maintain overall network security, monitor network, computer and disk utilization
  • To define, develop and implement NAFTA standards for work stations and laptop profiles
  • To prepare periodical (monthly) company reporting (IT cost type overview for NAFTA region with analysis vs Budget & Forecast)
  • Responsible for IM cost center (corporate Troy planning, reporting & actions to achieve at minimum the defined annual budget)
  • Responsible for inventory (annual) and provide accounting for Company resources including software, server, workstations and laptop and ensure full alignment to general ledger (fixed assets).
  • Play a lead role in developing & designing an IT disaster recovery plan as well as its implementation and continuous monitoring for adherence to the set standard as well as periodical internal audits and factual testing of the plans effectiveness for the NAFTA region
  • Liaison to external service & system provider, T-systems
  • Develop and support programs to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental processes

  • Minimum of 3 year's working experience within an industrial environment, preferably automotive
  • Post Secondary education from recognized College/University in Information Technology/Systems/Programming
  • Excellent skills in dealing with systems trouble-shooting, maintenance and supporting end users requirements
  • Excellent organizational and people skills - strong communication (verbal and written)
  • Must have excellent problem solving skills - demonstrate ability in having manufacturing production knowledge and to work in a fast paced unionized work environment
