Job Description

We are recruiting an experienced Transportation Supervisor to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct, schedule, and coordinate driver activities for road support and switching services to plants
  • Ensure prompt receipt/delivery of loads (based on window times or transit times)
  • Track drivers using Fleet Complete software that utilizes transponders and satellite adjusting as needed
  • Utilize Viat Pro software for FAST shipments and PAPS/PARS shipments
  • Analyze driver sheets and submit daily reports to customers
  • Review and code pro-bills to ensure department receives payment
  • Supervise mechanics and team leader that support transportation and plant PMHV equipment
  • Support Team Leader with scheduling mechanic assignments
  • Work with team leader and procurement clerk to ensure flow/status of parts are updated
  • Work in coordination with the management and Transit Trailer Leasing to ensure trailers are maintained. Track annual safety inspections
  • Track issues, provide corrective action/discipline as required
  • Review driver & mechanic timesheets using DROT/TWOs software
  • Assist in reviewing vacation requests and overtime requirements maintaining daily support needs
  • Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with the company and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Assist management with claims involving workers and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of supervision experience, in a unionized environment, in transportation management or logistics
  • Familiarity with transportation management software (e.g., Fleet Complete, Viat Pro)
  • Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation regulation
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements
  • Knowledge of Collective Agreement principles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Analytical and reporting skills
  • Availability for on-call shifts and overtime
