Our client is one of the world's leading suppliers of standard and specialty foods and the world’s leading producer in the business. They are recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of Direct reports in the safe & efficient repair & maintenance of assets
- Analyze current processes to maximize the uptime of equipment through the efficient & effective use of skilled unionized employees
- Utilizing IRS principles, ensure that legislation and company regulations are built in & followed in all assignments – including toolbox talks, job assignments, monthly housekeeping, safety meetings, new employee orientation & investigations
- Ensure that all activities in the department are prioritized & performed in an efficient manner within the guidelines of the Collective Agreement, policies and procedures and legislative requirements
- Plan and schedule all required electrical work for both surface and underground operations
- Liaise with the Production department & engineering staff is essential to ensure objectives are achieved
- Through the communication of job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counselling and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures; creating an efficient, consistent, cooperative and respectful work environment within the guideline of the Collective Agreement, policies and procedures and legislative requirements
- Weekly scheduling, overtime canvassing and recording, payroll & labour allocation, maintenance work orders, job and task analysis, parts requisitions
- Maintain product safety, legality and quality
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mechanical Background; diesel mechanic or millwright preferred
- 3 years in supervision of skilled trades, unionized personnel in the maintenance and repair of mobile & fixed equipment
- Post-Secondary Education, Skilled Trades Licence
- Ability to correctly prioritize requirements
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Maintenance Management systems
- Shop Floor presence
