We are currently recruiting an experienced Propulsion Systems SSTM Support (Sub System Technical Manager) to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support for all integration activities and interface for all issues (cost, timing, program planning, launch support, program resolution, etc.)
- Managing information flow and communication
- Reporting to the engineers/managers in Auburn Hills
- Tracking change bulletins, financial rollups, quality issues & studies
- Manage data and issues tracking
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent
- Design, development, and program management experience in broad powertrain functions and/or vehicle engineering in any of the following areas: engine, transmission, driveline, packaging, adaptation, controls, or calibration
- Demonstrated high leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Need to quickly achieve an understanding of the product development processes, design validation, Key Process Indicators (KPI), and gate processes
- Demonstrated team-building skills
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, and to work with minimal direction (ability to understand and complete next steps without guidance)
- Understand the basics of the components of how they go together
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or another related Engineering discipline from an accredited university or equivalent
- Master of Business Administration Degree from an accredited university or equivalent
- Experience and understanding of the vehicle cost process
- Experience with the ER&D roll-up process
- Experience with Change Notice (CN) and Common Change Document (CCD) process
- Significant knowledge of the automotive industry and competitive benchmarks
- Multiple program life cycle experience
- Experience as a Resident/Quality Engineer at one or more manufacturing plants
- International cultural experience with Latin America, Europe, and/or Asia
NOTE:
- Hybrid
- Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date
- Must be available for off-hour teleconferences
