Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced Dimensional Validation Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the automotive industry.


  • Develops and maintains a list of critical product and process characteristics for Body Shop and Stamping Plants
  • Recommends best gauging methods
  • Performs data analysis to identify special and common cause problems
  • Helps in the development and roll-out of training material
  • Support plants in root causing dimensional issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams to recommend and evaluate corrective action
  • Documents case studies
  • Responsibilities will include Interior and Exterior dimensional validation, Creating Kaizens and eCims from QAF build issues and part validation, Root cause analysis, ensuring part availability for the QAF builds, Launch support and supplier interface
  • The Dimensional Validation Engineer is responsible for leading dimensional improvements in vehicle geometry through part, tooling, or design actions.
  • The engineer will work with team members to analyze complex parts and sub-assemblies (sheet metal, exterior and interior) using various measurement systems (example, Meisterbock, quality assurance fixtures, laser trackers, CMMs and In-Line Vision Stations).
  • Perform data analysis, often organizing data from multiple sources to identify top issues and potential root causes.
  • Work with production personnel and plant quality engineers to implement and validate proposed solutions.
  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented through data analysis.
  • Proactively monitor trend charts and work with cross-functional teams to drive variation reduction of critical product and process characteristics.
  • Interact with suppliers, both internal and external, to communicate issues and drive resolution


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge in basic statistics and process control required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of GD&T and use of gauges and fixtures
  • Familiarity with metrology equipment for root cause diagnostics
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications


  • Experience in using statistical analysis applications
  • Good data analysis skills. ex: Minitab or equivalent statistical package
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical concepts


  • On-Site Work daily- must be living in the Windsor/Essex County area
