Job Description

Our client, a designer/manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems and material handling systems, is in search of an R & M Engineer to join their team. The position primary focus is on the use of management systems, analysis techniques and advanced condition-based and preventive technologies to identify, manage and eliminate failures leading to losses in system function.


  • Develop and maintain Machinery Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), QM-Matrix, X-Matrix and Maintainability Assessment Documents
  • Develop and maintain Man and Machine motion charts (Cycle Time analysis)
  • Develop the Automation Cell Process Flow by working with both internal and external customers
  • Work with Estimating and Advanced Processing during Concept Development through R&M studies, Life Cycle Costing models, similar system performance data, spare parts usage and maintenance requirements
  • Conduct R&M studies, participate in Processing and Design Reviews, determine Mean Time Between Failure and Mean Time To Recovery for components and systems and gather all related R&M information for customer buy-offs
  • Provide analysis of machine performance data collected from the field
  • A Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering degree or an Engineering Diploma from a recognized Community College
  • Extensive knowledge of R&M systems
  • Experience with Failure Mode Effect Analysis documentation
  • Experience with Automation, Robotics and machine tools
  • Familiarity with the logic concepts of PLC’s and industrial automation
  • The ability to quickly understand complex automation system processes
  • Detail Oriented with Exceptional organizational ability
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication abilities
