We are currently recruiting for an experienced Weight Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the Automotive Industry.
Management and reporting of vehicle weights to ensure positioning within EPA test weight classes and regulatory planning activities necessary to assure compliance with governmental regulatory requirements
Drive weight optimization activity during the platform development
Develop functional targets, benchmarking competition, data analysis and reporting to achieve weight optimization
Populating Tables with predictive weight data used for test weight classification, fuel economy calculation, spring selection, verification of weight to overall vehicle ratings
Driving the right optimization decisions while providing accurate and timely assessments
Proactively work with Product Planning, Engineering and Materials
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent(Materials /Chemical/ Civil/ Aerospace/Computer) from an ABET-accredited university
Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing engineering environment.
Minimum of 3 years experience in Discrete Event Simulation is required.
Experience of existing Body Shop, Paint Shop and General Assembly is required.
Demonstrated proficiencies in the following software package and languages: AutoMod is required.
Must have basic AutoCAD skills, strong MS Office Suite, and basic programming skills in VBA
Witness or SIMUL8 skill is plus
Excellent problem solving & communications
Skills including written and oral required. Must be self-motivated, customer-driven team player, able to develop close customer relations to best understand requirements & meet tight deadlines
Remote with some travel to the US for meetings
Must be fully vaccinated by the COVID-19 vaccine unless you request a Medical or Religious exemption. These requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis
