Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Seat Lab Test Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the Automotive Industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design set up and operate various test equipment to perform benchmarking, material characterizations, durability testing and perform post-processing of the data to provide full reports to the Global Seat Comfort Team
  • Strategically plan towards expanding the ARDC labs with the ability to improve product design
  • Partner directly with Seat Comfort Team to develop and plan necessary tests, teardowns, and analysis to satisfy early vehicle program development requirements (and later development tests as required)
  • Maintain and possess excellent communication, organization, planning, collaboration and negotiation skills
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing demands and circumstances as well as an ability to work within highly interactive teams in various capacities
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc) in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering from accredited University
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in testing/validation/test method development, including fixture design, instrumentation, data acquisition, etc.
  • Comfortable in a laboratory environment with a hands-on approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Well rounded automotive knowledge and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and able to manage unionized workforce
  • Strong drive to support FCA global testing teams to achieve world best in class levels in design, function and robustness
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically MS Excel and Project
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and travel to the USA
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree
  • Previous experience in seating an asset
  • Knowledge of KUKA robots
  • Unigraphics/NX and Team Center
  • PolyWorks software
  • DFSS Green Belt Certification
  • Experience with general instrumentation (i.e. potentiometers, strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples etc…)
  • Experience with NI DAQ systems, LabVIEW programming, PLC's, motor controllers and data logging
