Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Release Engineer to join our team supporting our client in the Automotive Industry.

  • Work specifically as a DRE within Passive Safety Electronics Component, Active Chassis Components or other areas
  • Design, release, and validate the passive safety electrical system and its components, leading the process from inception through launch
  • Work closely with supply base to ensure on-time implementation and validation of software, hardware, and diagnostics following guidelines
  • Interface with Electronic Component Groups, Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality and Assembly Plants to develop Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Braking Actuation Module, Wheel Speed Sensors and Clutch/Brake pedal sensor/switch components
  • Manage product performance to meet vehicle and component level functional, cost and weight targets
  • Perform product release and change management processes
  • Develop software and hardware release timing for feature rollout and performance goal milestones
  • Manage supplier and internal DVPR’s, including:
    • Tracking of the validation activities and the related bug-fixes
    • Definition of countermeasures in case of issues and delays
    • Coordination of HW / SW releases of the component, ensuring the alignment with the validation activities
    • Approval of tests results and related deviations
  • Support AQP, PSO, product launch and problem resolution during vehicle launch gates
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Computer / Mechanical / Automotive / Systems Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 3+ years of experience of Design and/or Validation of Electrical systems and components
  • Ability to effectively lead a cross-functional team in the execution of robust designs, including suppliers, Passive Safety calibration team, Restraints, Interior, Electrical, and Body, etc.
  • Proficient in the creation and implementation of DFMEAs and/or DVP&Rs and design practices
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project) and G-Suite
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, hardware and software design concepts
  • Knowledge of testing and validation tools
  • Proven record of interpreting requirements from design to production
  • Knowledge and execution of change management processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of Electronic Stability Control systems
  • Calibration and diagnostic experience using typical automotive controls system development environments
  • Intermediate knowledge in automotive communication protocols ((CAN networks, Electrical/EMC requirements, Environmental requirements, FMEA, functional safety analysis – ISO 26262 norm, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge in automotive vehicle mechanical and electrical system architectures (e.g., distributed control systems)
  • Associate level candidates may be considered IF they possess strong SAE or Alt Practical experience
  • May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver’s license is required as well as a clean driving record.
  • 3+ years Passive Safety E/E experience or electronic brake system releasing
  • Strong GD&T skillset
  • Formal training/experience in problem-solving, quality and reliability
  • Experience in manufacturing of electronic brake components and vehicle assembly
  • Understanding of Team Center
  • Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) GreenBelt certification
  • Shainin/Reactive GreenBelt certification
  • Able to work well with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
