Job Description

On behalf of our Tier 1 injection molding client (non-automotive), we are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their team.


  • Ensuring effective and efficient operations of all plant equipment by maintaining all equipment to a quality performance level
  • Regular preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Facilitates and delivers project status updates on results such as milestone achievement, schedule and next key deliverables
  • Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems routinely to minimize unplanned downtime
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude- anticipates and solves problems in a timely manner and identifies opportunities for improvement
  • Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program and training for the maintenance department
  • Ensures all safety, health, and environmental standards are met at all times
  • Must be able to recognize hazards and potential hazards and correct them in a timely manner
  • Ensures company policies and procedures are being followed by maintenance personnel
  • Works closely with the Plant Manager to coordinate maintenance outages and repair work in process areas
  • Ensure that while meeting manufacturing objectives and quality requirements that deliverables also comply with regulatory requirements
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions of plastic mold injection machines
  • Ordering of machine parts as required within budget approval
  • Scheduling/working with outside vendors/contractors and suppliers as required
  • Perform/schedule routine maintenance work on machinery through scheduling and prioritizing of work orders
  • Organize, monitor and prepare maintenance personnel for all 5S activities, lean manufacturing, housekeeping and continuous improvement within the department


  • Must be able to come in on off shifts (i.e. evenings and nights) when problems arise
  • 3-5 years in a managerial capacity in a manufacturing environment, preferably in plastic injection molding
  • Post-Secondary education in a technical field, industrial engineering preferred
  • Requires mechanical and electrical expertise and experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Experience in mold changeovers
  • Able to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, essential in dealing with people at all levels and in a variety of functions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Able to multi-task and strong attention to detail
  • Strong injection molding background
  • Technical knowledge of equipment and tooling
  • Be organized and a motivated self-starter
  • Day shift, however, may be required to work other shifts as necessary
