We are currently recruiting for an experienced Catalyst Development Engineerto join our team supporting our client in the Automotive Industry.
Investigate after treatment systems (ATS) technology trends and determine system trade-offs to allow selection of after treatment system hardware and diagnostics to meet emissions standards (e.g. California LEV III) on future vehicle applications
Demonstrate proof-of-concept solutions and perform verification testing according to powertrain functional objectives
Develop test plans, establish goals and timelines, and communicate the status of a project to completion
Follow after-treatment systems (ATS) technology trends and determine system trade-offs for different solutions as well as competitive technologies for passenger car and light-duty applications
Perform ATS development according to requirements (e.g. design, components, catalyst FUL aging, OBD threshold parts, etc.)
Support the definition of ATS and diagnostic requirements and communicate to engine systems with the substrate, washcoat, and PGM definition and production part release responsibility
Apply appropriate procedures and methodologies for project management (planning, scheduling, reporting) to reach project deliverables
Manage current production product (e.g. develop quality improvement actions, implement lessons learned, promote cost reduction, perform benchmark analysis, etc.)
Meet technical cost targets, time to market, and ATS performance targets
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university, or related discipline
Good understanding of gasoline engine hardware, after-treatment systems, diagnostics, controls and calibration. understanding of gasoline engine efficiency, performance, and emissions
Minimum of 5 years of combined work experience in the after-treatment area
Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets) and Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
