Job Description

Our client is a designer, manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems, material handling systems, industrial parts washers, leak test machines and final assembly systems. A challenging and exciting opportunity awaits you as an Estimator/ Project Manager.


  • Review sketches, engineering data or other RFQ information so as to determine items to be quoted
  • Prepare cycle time analysis, conceptual drawings, sequence of operations, and technical descriptions of machine stations and major system components
  • Attend bidder’s meetings locally or at customer locations
  • Prepare proposal documents and presentations
  • Work with the departments that will be part of the quoting process (controls, documentation, etc.)
  • Populate pricing spreadsheets; obtain external quotes from vendor base, find new support sources
  • Communicate and identify proposal content with customer via conference or on-site meetings
  • Prepare job kick-off packages and meetings with relevant departments, supply work breakdown structure (WBS) information to contract administrators
  • Work with processing team when required
  • Support in developing new products, existing product improvements, standards in proposal and costing
  • Communicate within a team-based work environment and interact well with fellow employees and external customers
  • Prepare, conduct and/or assist in technical presentations to customers when required
  • Prepare sales orders, sales changes, assist project management with scheduling, job progress and customer requirements
  • Line-up engineering and project management on job orders received
  • Maintain tracking system for all changes on approved format
  • Has the authority and obligation to stop production in case unsafe working condition are observed
  • Has the obligation to notify his or her supervisor and/or a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee of any safety related matter requiring immediate attention
  • Maintain an adherence to all manufacturing proposal and estimating policies and procedures


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Controls Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with machining, tooling, assembly, controls background would be an asset
  • Able to obtain ITAR and Controlled Goods clearance, if required
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Experience in processing, cost estimating and formulation of written proposals
  • Skilled at technical data, drawing and print reading, interpretation and understanding
  • Machining and fabrication experience / knowledge
  • AutoCAD software experience is a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel within North America and globally, if required
