Job Description

On behalf of our high-performance transmission client, we are recruiting for a Commercial Account Manager to join their team. The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for the growth on a business level with existing or new customers in designated areas. Providing the key interface between the company and customers, managing the relationship, reputation and brand.


  • Identify and develop new business growth opportunities while interfacing with customer / prospective organizations across multiple levels
  • Collect information regarding markets, competitors and customers to develop customer strategic plans and guide activities to execute that plan
  • Collaborate with Technology, Engineering and Operation’s functions to provide customers with solutions that are in line with company direction, strategy and commercial criteria
  • Contribute to the development of company long term planning
  • Manage the creation of proposals and quotations ensuring contract review, management buy in and approval
  • Negotiate pricing, conditions, contracts and changes with customers and ensure that there is a long term commercial roadmap
  • Prepare sales forecasts for the short, medium and long term and provide information that may impact short term schedules
  • Preparation of presentations for customers and management to deliver the value proposition and to win new business or retain existing business
  • Oversee and guide new business projects (phases from quote to production validation and launch)
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Value proposition and Brand values, in different functions and at multiple levels
  • In designated cases provide Key Account, Product, Geographic or Sector Leadership and Coordination with other Commercial Managers and Customer Product Engineering staff who may have matrix interests or responsibilities
    • Key Account Leader– Ensure coordinated information, planning and communication with customers with multi-divisional, multinational activities
    • Product Specialist– Provide special knowledge or insight to other Commercial Managers who may have opportunities in the area of Product specialty (eg manual Transmission, Components, DCT,..)
    • Geographic Leader – Provide regional business knowledge and engagement across products, sectors and key accounts
    • Sector Specialist – Contributes sector knowledge and insight to complement activities across regions and key accounts
  • Marketing degree, Master’s degree preferable
  • Technical degree desirable with powertrain experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Business to business marketing experience in the technically orientated automotive market, Global awareness, experience and an ability to communicate at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to manage multiple projects within established and changing deadlines
  • 10% or less travel and ability to periodically work non-traditional business hours to support local and international suppliers
