On behalf of our high-performance transmission client, is in search of an Operations Manager to join their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the manufacturing process during the implementation of new products / projects are within cost (new product costing, production and maintenance/installation expenses, monthly budgets), quality and time
- Ensure the developing, validation and implementation of new products and/or components
- Ensure the developing techniques, maintenance and automation processes
- Monitoring products are manufactured in accordance to work instruction package
- Advising productive areas and suppliers in improving productivity levels
- Ensure the required product availability and compliance as generated by the program management team according to work instruction package
- Evaluate production program for managing resources required to fulfill production
- Ensure staff levels / skills are optimized to achieve production program targets
- Coordinate participation during the implementation of new part numbers or projects
- Ensure the implementation of the 5S´s in production area
- Monitor productivity and promote actions with business to help improve it continually
- Ensure the implementation of 5S’s, the evaluation / reduction of waste, and promote corrective and preventive action to reduce them
- Promote the application of lean Manufacturing techniques in processes
- Ensure the availability of machinery, equipment and facilities
- Ensure the proper application of autonomous, preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize failures in machinery and equipment
- Ensure complete implementation of corrective and preventive actions for strengthening the planned maintenance plans
- Ensure critical spare parts inventory is properly managed
- Ensure the implementation of programs of preventive maintenance on facilities with contractors (Compressed air, fans, drains, gardens, building, hydraulic lines, pneumatic lines, floors, streets, pest control)
- Develop and control with key suppliers for services, machinery, electronics, etc
- Ensure compliance with the quality and environmental systems
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Report to manager of human resources any incidents in which is involved, as well as any unsafe conditions. Collaborate during accident investigations
- Participate on process improvements and provide ideas in order to drive continuous improvement
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:- 10+ years’ of operations experience in an automotive manufacturing/assembly plant. The successful candidate will bring transmission or engine experience
- 5+ years of managerial / leadership (managing, training and directing employees) experience is required
- Strong organization, presentation skills, and verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in order to hit deadlines, and results oriented
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices and OSHA regulations
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite
- Ability to travel 10% or less to support local and international suppliers
