Job Description

On behalf of our food manufacturing client we are currently recruiting for an experienced Logistics Manager to join their team.


  • Strategize, problem solve, develop, and implement logistics, inventory and operations infrastructure including processes, policies and ongoing improvement plans
  • Oversee freight management, vendor routing, and carrier management and the associated relationships
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics for inventory, transportation, shipping and receiving and Warehouse operations
  • Create, monitor, and report on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • Negotiate with and manage contracts and service level agreements for third party suppliers, warehousing and/or service providers
  • Coordinate and submit timely and accurate inventory control data for Monthly/Annual Materials Management of third-party warehouses and copackers
  • Manage carrier implementations and establish service level agreements to ensure services are delivered as promised
  • Conduct and manage associated budgets for the company's logistics and warehouse departments
  • Manage the imports and exports shipped to and from the company; work with customs officials to ensure compliance
  • Traces incoming railcar and container shipments and trouble-shoots where necessary with transport agencies
  • Enters rice purchase contracts, orders, shipping details and Certificate of Analysis in system
  • Responsible for the scheduled deliveries of rice cars, including the coordination of the Rice shipments for non-bulk items, inventory and shipment tracking, order processing, contract entry, freight rate procurement and payable entry
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or College Diploma in Business Administration or related field of Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years experience of logistics experience in a unionized environment
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics, supply chain management
  • Supervisory experience in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of office processes, procedures, technology and logistics
  • Experience in supervising project and team activities
  • Ability to read and interpret financial reports, legal contracts and customs regulations
  • Strong working knowledge of English both Oral and written
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to work occasional weekends or evenings as required- willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Excellent attendance, punctual, reliable
  • MS word/excel/spreadsheet experience required
