Job Description

On behalf of our civil infrastructure and operation client, we are currently recruiting for a Civil / Structure Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering input and assisting the Senior Director Bridges & Roads with the civil and structural work associated with plazas, bridges, roads and US & Canada approaches. Not only will you use your technical expertise on this high-profile infrastructure project. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • During the project design and construction, work with Senior Director Bridges & Roads to review and monitor contractor submittals related to bridges and roads, to ensure compliance with the Project Agreement and the Technical Requirements
  • Provide engineering input to client and Owner Engineer construction and quality teams for all structural matters and roadway works, including building, structural, retaining walls and bridges
  • Provide contract administration and oversight in coordination with the Project Agreement and Technical Requirements by working with the client, Owner Engineer, Michigan Department of Transportation and project owner
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports. Provide input to the client’s financial team regarding Owner Engineer and project owner invoices
  • Provide input to the clients scheduling team in respect to regular project schedule update and reporting
  • Work with project Independent Certifier on providing status updates and reporting on work progress

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) in Ontario or P.E. in Michigan
  • Minimum 7 plus years of relevant experience
  • Experience with concrete and steel structure construction
  • Experience with P3 model and complex projects considered to be an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D and structural software an asset
  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Personnel Screening/ Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel within Ontario and Michigan
