Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer.


  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments)
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation
  • Manage engineering changes, working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution
  • Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation
  • Work with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable
  • Recommend and validate rework procedures
  • Develop inspection procedures and best methods for performing inspection
  • Develop projects to support World Class Manufacturing
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive or Aerospace Engineering or related
  • Minimum 2 years' automotive related experience in design & development to manage all quality aspects on current and/or future model specific programs relating to competitive scorecards, assessment of third party target metrics (e.g. Consumer Reports, JD Power) and warranty issue resolution
  • Familiar with overall vehicle systems to be Model Responsible (overall vehicle) Engineering Quality point of contact for Product Development to Manufacturing
  • Strong Root Cause Analysis skills to support the resolution of warranty issues (via electronic corporate issue management system) associated with vehicle design, build, and testing
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint) / G-Suite tools to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization, including senior management presentation
  • Project coordination skills to support vehicle testing (ordering, updating, issue disposition) used to collect vehicle data
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment, establishing partnerships both internally and externally
  • Will be required to drive company vehicles – valid drivers license & clean driving record required
  • Will be required to travel – domestic & international (0-20%) supporting Canadian vehicle manufacturing platform
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Familiar with 3rd party Quality metrics (i.e. J. D. Power, Consumer Reports)
  • Previous experience with new vehicle launches
  • Working knowledge of quality information systems
