Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Service Author to join their team.


  • Prioritization, authoring and delivery of technical repair procedures via service actions to Service Technicians
  • Coordinate with CST teams to ensure service actions published same time as plant clean- author technical service actions (Bulletins, RRT's, Star On Line cases, etc.)
  • Prioritize workload based on severity & frequency of STAR issues
  • Deliver technical information to organizations TechCONNECT website- knowledge of robust service & diagnostic processes for components & systems
  • Review and process technician feedback into actionable improvements
  • Meeting with cross-functional organizations to understand root causes & robust field issues
  • Report status of service actions to upper management- managing multiple commodities (bumper to bumper)
  • Benchmark and interface with Fiat Service and Engineering organizations
  • Bachelor's degree, Automotive Technology or Business degree with practical exp.
  • 5+ years service management & development experience - Dealer & Service Manuals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)
  • Solid understanding of service practices, engineering processes, & supplier management
  • Knowledge of XML markup language, data models for authoring and publishing, & Content Management Support (CMS) systems
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Project management & prioritization proven experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle – valid drivers license and clean driving record required
  • May be required to travel – Domestic (0-20%)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship


  • Work collaboratively with internal Service team, Quality/CST and Engineering teams
  • DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT portal experience
  • Knowledge of dealership environment -Technical writing experience
  • Special tools & wiring experience
  • LOPS development experience
  • High sense of urgency
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thorough approach to follow-through on all tasks
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and to work under pressure
  • Enthusiastic, well organized, & successful at adhering to schedules and raising issues
  • Ability to work with domestic and international business culture
