Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are currently recruiting for an experienced Paralegal to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides support to attorneys
  • Under the direction of an attorney, resolves routine legal issues
  • Researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, etc.
  • Support in case and file management, legal research, discovery coordination, and substantial litigation support with minimal supervision and guidance from attorney staff
  • Assisting the in-house attorneys and outside counsel in all matters relating to litigation and eDiscovery
  • Duties are of a varied and non-routine nature, and include, but are not limited to:
    • Discovery management, records management;
    • Document review and analysis;
    • Maintaining, updating and organizing files;
    • Researching and reviewing case law and statutes;
    • Drafting and proofreading of documents, including legal holds;
    • Assisting in responding to non-party discovery requests such as subpoenas and requests from regulatory agencies;
  • Gather key information from internal business clients and outside counsel in order to prepare litigation matters and contracts for attorney review
  • Take initiative and be responsible for communicating with in-house counsel, outside counsel, and business clients as necessary to take projects from start to completion in a timely and efficient manner
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completed Bachelor's degree
  • Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certificate from an ABA-approved organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Power Point, Excel, Outlook, use of internet, and able to quickly learn and utilize other computer applications used by the Office of General Counsel
  • Minimum of 3 years of law firm or corporate paralegal experience to support in case and file management, legal research, discovery coordination, and substantial litigation support with minimal supervision and guidance from attorney staff in all matters relating to litigation and eDiscovery
  • Trial paralegal experience is a strong plus
  • Must be consistently punctual and regular in attendance
  • Must demonstrate a successful track record of sound decision-making in the absence of detailed instructions and show reliability to use common sense to do the job and any other assigned tasks and work independently towards a resolution
  • Must be independent, resourceful, take initiative and be assertive
  • Litigation experience, with working knowledge of the litigation process and a thorough understanding or exposure to discovery practices
  • Experience with and a thorough understanding of eDiscovery issues and best practices, including legal holds
  • The ability to perform legal research
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Desire to work in conjunction with both in-house and outside counsel, and take initiative to drive case progress
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks with minimal supervision, often on tight deadlines
  • A detail oriented approach to work with excellent organizational and follow-through skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills (the job requires regular interaction with lawyers and business clients of varying levels and personalities)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
