Job Description

On behalf of our civil infrastructure and operation client, we are currently recruiting for a Civil / Structure Coordinator.

  • Provide support to the Senior Director and the Civil / Structure Engineer with the civil and structural work associated with plazas, bridges, roads, and interchanges
  • Coordinates with subject matter experts (SME) in the areas of building design and construction to provide alignment with construction
  • Coordinate with the SMEs in order to report on inspections, progress and quality, on this high profile infrastructure project
  • Work with engineering team, in particular Director of Construction SMEs, to review and monitor contractor submittals to ensure compliance with the project technical requirements during the project design and construction
  • Use attention to detail to monitor the status of all assigned projects including witness inspection of installation, testing and commissioning per project quality requirements
  • Collaborate with SMEs to review building systems working drawings, as required, ensuring that work project specifications are met, and that work plans are compatible and meet with existing project standards
  • Ensure that the quality of work meets specifications and comply with the contract
  • Prepare written reports to document observations, findings, work details and completion dates
  • Work closely with Civil/ Structure Engineer and SMEs to resolve all queries for construction progress reporting back to the Senior Director and construction team
  • Assist with contract administration verification in coordination with Owner’s Engineer (OE), MDOT, Project Co.
  • Provide input to the scheduling team in respect to regular project schedule update and reporting
  • University Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with concrete and steel structure construction
  • Experience with P3 model and complex projects considered to be an asset
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) is an asset
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation, Civil 3D, Revit and structural software an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple issues concurrently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Possesses problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong initiative and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate orally and in writing
  • Well-rounded knowledge of relationship management
  • Ability to obtain a Government of Canada Personnel Screening/ Security Clearance
  • Ability to travel within Ontario and Michigan
