Job Description

On behalf of our civil infrastructure and operation client, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the oversight for proper project management in compliance with the project agreement, ensure best practice project management principles are utilized to develop plans. This position requires specialized technical expertise to make field - level assessments through the project management lens, documenting reports on risk, scheduling and cost management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Address all Project Management Plans ensuring the necessary plans, senior-level executive reporting and KPIs are in place to achieve the obligations as set out in the Project Agreement are met
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external established committees, teams and disciplines/positions to create, implement, monitor and maintain project plans that will deliver on Project Agreement obligations related to all bridge and road aspects
  • Monitoring action plans, providing follow-up and accountability efforts, and providing regular senior-level status updates to the Director of Project Management, that articulate the areas of risk identification and mitigation, cost and schedule management and project oversight activity
  • Participate in, provide input to, and support the Director in performing audits of project management plans to ensure respective owners are meeting their obligations
  • Complete regular review of the effectiveness of the project management systems and provide timely and proactive recommendations to resolve
    deficiencies
  • Work collaboratively with other teams’ dedicated resources and where necessary, provide a challenge and accountability function to monitor project performance including cost, schedule, risk and quality alerting the Director to trends and areas of attention related to all project aspects to ensure the successful execution of the project
  • Assist in the coordination work and assessment of risk related to project deviation with other disciplines related to all aspects of the Project Agreement
  • Prepare senior level reports articulating the progress, risks, actions and mitigation efforts undertaken regarding Bridges and Roads project management oversight
  • Attend required meetings as a functional representative having jurisdiction and in doing so, interpreting and assessing the project schedule for compliance and identifying for provision of time-sensitive verbal and senior-level written communications and reports to executives
    regarding real or perceived areas of risk
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor’s degree Engineering, Business Administration or related field
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB), considered an asset
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive project management experience with at least 3-5 years of those on complex or large-scale building and roads works infrastructure projects
  • Experience with international and P3 projects, considered an asset
  • Demonstrated project management skills including; sound judgement and the ability to work well under pressure as well as managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing in order to collaborate within a multi-discipline team environment, as well as work independently
  • Demonstrated Project Management oversight and knowledge of bridge and road design and construction
  • Understanding of contract language and construction terminology
  • Demonstrated Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
  • Primavera (P6) with experience in other project management software including bridge and road design software
