Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Engineer to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Eager and hardworking and responsible for directing activities
  • Operation of two break-end dyno’s and one full size chassis dyno and associated test setup and reporting
  • Supervision of unionized personnel and duties associated with such supervision (safety, environmental, conflict resolution)
  • Other department activities may be required depending on scheduling, for example vacation coverage for the Corrosion Teardown lab
  • The Brake Development Lab (BDL) is part of the Materials Engineering department

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (or equivalent) from accredited University
  • Minimum 1 years of overall Engineering experience
  • Must have supervision experience (will be supervising 1-2 workers)
  • Must have at least 2 years experience
  • Comfortable in a laboratory environment with union workforce
  • Written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Organizational and project management skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license as well as a clean driving record is required
  • Will be required to travel internationally 0-20% (Going to Auburn Hills, MI)
  • Afternoon and midnight shifts will be required
  • Weekend/OT work will also be required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of vehicle braking systems
  • Team center and NX knowledge would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Link Pro Link software
  • CMM knowledge
